Social Responsibility
Throughout the years Te & Kaffi has always tried to let its good side show by supporting projects both in the coffee arena and elsewhere; for example, we were leading proponents of Fairtrade in Iceland. The Fairtrade movement was launched to stand up for the rights of those least able to defend themselves. Fairtrade helps small farmers who do not have the business knowledge to negotiate fair prices, or who are somehow forced to accept unfairly low payment. Te & Kaffi is the only company in Iceland today which is licensed to produce Fairtrade-certified coffee and we support the Fairtrade movement wholeheartedly.
Our company is also a decade-long supporter of the United Nations children’s charity, UNICEF, by donating a portion of our profit on sales to business directly to the charity. The project has been a great success and businesses have generally been supportive. We are proud to be able to support the important work being done by UNICEF around the world.
We want to believe that Icelanders will continue to support Icelandic industry and enjoy the opportunity to drink good, fresh coffee, made in Iceland.
